HENDRA cafe Black is inner-north Brisbane’s newest and hippest coffee joint with a difference.
Owner Simon Gniot, 30, said, in the seven weeks they have been open, locals had embraced their dog-friendly environment.
``There are so many people in the area with dogs so when they’re pampering themselves with a coffee, they can now hang out with their dog,’’ he said.
``It makes sense it means they don’t have to leave the dog at home.
``There’s shade, dog bowls, and we sell dog biscuits.’’
Mr Gniot said the courtyard was a ``nice and peaceful area that was perfect for a chat’’.
Black will launch a new winter menu today, which will include soups and the weekend barbecue breakfast.
The cafe is open for breakfast and lunch seven days a week and the courtyard is available for private functions in the afternoons and evenings. Mr Gniot said he hoped to launch community dog-washing weekends in the future.
