Pre Christmas Art Deals Day @ London Offices Teneriffe | 28th November 2009 | 9-2pm

Kylie Farrelly has been capturing images of Brisbane's on canvas for the past five years. A Brisbane girl, she has watched the city grow and enjoyed participating in the vast array of activities and social opportunities that have evolved in Brisbane, making it what it is today.
She uses a bold palette to portray the energy and vibrancy that she experiences in the city she calls home. Kylies latest collection of work for her solo exhibition focuses upon Iconic images in and around Brisbane, both historic and modern. Both the aerial and diverse angular range of perspectives that Kylie has captured show some of these wonderful city icons.

" It is all about knowing from where and how to look at Brisbane's gifts. It is the choice of the viewer to experience the pulsating energy or to find the peaceful moments within the Brisbane culture" Kylie Farrelly 2009

Helen Clifford

Born in Bellingen, New South Wales. After Extensive traveling, I have found myself settled in Brisbane. I have now lived in Brisbane for 20 Years, I have always had an eye for colours, textures and different art forms. Being involved with fashion and make-up my whole life it seemed a natural progression to explore the world of abstract art. I have been studying and painting now for 10 years, mostly experimenting with oils. I enjoy putting my spin of colour and creativity onto a canvas. I love the depth of colours and the many textures you can create, I have learnt a great deal from my former art teacher “Bill Sass.” Having a proud and passionate feel for our very own Brisbane city It gives me great pleasure to create artworks involving our coastlines, landscapes and city views. Abstract is my passion. Though I don’t mind the freedom of a sunrise at the beach with a glass of wine. I hope you enjoy my outlook of life through my paintings as much as I enjoyed painting it.

Dave Behrens is an emerging artist living and working in Brisbane.

Dave's unique multiplex, grid-like works, rely on symbology, texture, intricate lines and vibrant, modern colours to express themselves. The conceptual drive for Dave’s work extends from tribal hieroglyphic art with added universal influences & sometimes familiar cultural references.

Dave’s works have been described as bringing a sense of sophistication, glamour, and classic simplicity to works that are anything but simple.

Predominantly using acrylic & glass paint on canvas, Dave values art that is visually stimulating with his passion being art nouveau symbolism. His style comes to life in “Thinking Inside The Squares”, the title he labeled his collection, due to its ability to provide the observer with the opportunity to explore and interpret the many individual paintings within the one canvas and exploit their own imagination.

Dave’s works can be found in private and corporate collections throughout Australia & New Zealand.

Jennifer Barrett gathers her ideas from many influences and allows her paintings to evolve from the extensive layering of texture, abstract marks and glazes. "I like to work free and intuitively, that way every mark I make allows endless possibilities, and this I find very exciting".
Barrett is a graduate of Queensland College of Art and uses mixed media, acrylic, oil, and encaustic. Ph:0408884314

Robert Edward Kerswell
R.E.K.

Many of my paintings have their origin in a passing glance, something glimpsed while driving on the street or from the windows of the train or on foot on my way to work each day.

So many of the scenes we see each day are full of hidden beauty and enchantment. The majority of people would look down a street with a distant view of the city hiding behind an overpass or a concrete pylon as an ordinary view, something they pass everyday and think nothing more of it. I see such a scene as an opportunity, a chance to create. I find myself transfixed and frantically begin to sketch and photograph what, in that moment, was the initial seed of a new creation – the process which unfolds after this seed is planted is a painstaking one, involving numerous preliminary sketches and studies.

To calculate the hours invested in each piece would be an exercise in futility, the joy I derive from my work negates the need to measure the end product in time spent.

I am trying to paint the real world we live in, as beautifully as I can, as seen through my own eyes.
