Art Class for Adults

Why should kids have all the fun……

Do you want a creative outlet and some time out for yourself? Are you looking for something fun and educational yet relaxing?

Since 2005 Kylie Farrelly has run Create-A-Canvas classes for adults who have always wanted to paint or to refresh their skills. Once a month, on a Sunday afternoon, Kylie holds paintings sessions for beginner and novice painters at her Studio Gallery in Newstead, Brisbane. 2/30 Florence Street, Newstead, QLD 4006

About the classes:

Classes start at 1.30pm with a personal discussion with each class participant on their intended painting idea. Kylie talks to everyone in the class individually about the image they have chosen and goes through some techniques that suit their projects.

During the class experiment with a variety of techniques and medium. It is also a wonderful forum to and to learn from each other.

The class finishes at 5.30pm. The 4 hour time frame should be enough to complete your canvas and if not, the classes run again on a monthly basis.

A selection of hot drinks and afternoon tea is provided.

What you need to do:

  • Choose a date that suits you and book your place. Class sizes are small (maximum 8) and spaces are limited.
  • Bring along a suitable canvas for the image you want to paint and for the place you envisage it hanging. (Canvases can be bought at many art supply stores, including Discount Art Warehouse, Riot Art & Craft, Eckersleys, Art Shed or most bargain stores or large newsagencies.)
  • Select a variety of printed images ( eg. magazines, postcards, photographs, calenders, artwork images) to keep your options open and Kylie will help you decide what is possible to achieve on the day.
  • Wear old comfortable clothes and shoes. Aprons are available for you to wear.

Payment:

The cost of the class is $25 per hour. (maximum $100).

A non-refundable deposit of $25 is required when making your booking. Full fee required to be paid one week prior to class.

This includes all of your materials( except the canvas), tuition and refreshments.

Payment can be made by cash, direct deposit, or money order made out to either Kylie Farrelly or Energyart.
